Audi SUVs are collecting top honors: readers of OFF ROAD magazine have selected the Audi Q5 as the off-road vehicle of the year in the SUV category. The Audi Q7 took third place in the luxury SUV category. The awards were presented last night in Munich.

Audi has continued its success story in the “Best Cars of 2010” readers’ poll conducted by the magazine “auto motor und sport” (ams). Readers voted three Audi models – the Audi A4, R8 Spyder and Audi Q5 – into first place in their categories. Second places for the Audi A3, A6 and R8 Coupé rounded out the outstanding result.

Delivering the latest in digitally enhanced audio, extra programming and advanced data services, Audi of America today announced that it will offer HD Radio Technology as a standard feature on some of its 2011 models, including the A6, A8 and Q7. HD Radio Technology will also be available via the optional navigation radio in the 2011 A4, A5 and Q5 models. All models will be available at U.S. Audi dealerships by Fall 2010.

Readers of the motoring magazine "Auto Zeitung" have voted three Audi models top of their classes in the "Auto Trophy 2009." More than 104,000 readers took part in the poll. The Audi A5 Sportback, Audi R8 Spyder and Audi Q5 picked up three of the year’s most coveted awards in the readers’ poll. Audi also took first place in the Image Report for car brands for the sixth time in a row. The brand with the four rings has now won the coveted prize of the "Auto Trophy" 43 times in the award’s 22-year history. The prizes were awarded yesterday evening during a gala event at Berlin’s Meilenwerk.

The latest Audi models have garnered top ratings for safety in four prestigious tests. The Audi A4 and Q5 achieved a top five-star rating in the new and more stringent Euro New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) safety tests. The U.S. National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed this outstanding collision performance and gave both cars a five-star rating in all categories. In addition, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a U.S. consumer protection organization, proclaimed the Audi Q5 its “Top Safety Pick” – the best buy when it comes to safety.

INGOLSTADT, Germany - The decision has been made: the new Audi Q5 will be built in Germany. The new model will start rolling off the production line at Ingolstadt in 2008. To that end, around EUR 300 million will be invested in the production facilities over the next years. Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, explained: ?The decision demonstrates what potential there is for industrial production in Germany. We are delighted that the Audi Q5 will be built in Ingolstadt, now that we have reached an agreement with the Works Council enabling us to build it at a competitive cost.?
